The Pedway: Elevating London

Here's a beautiful documentary. The Pedway: Elevating London by Chris Bevan Lee tells the story of the City of London's decision to build a network of high-level walkways to separate pedestrians from car traffic: the city's Route 11. As part of that the documentary brings in the Bauhaus, the Festival of Britain, the Barbican, Prince Charles (I know…) and lots and lots of Jonathan Glancey interview.

There's so much beautiful archive footage, if you like that sort of thing (like what I do) you'll be swooning from the off. Some of the tone is a bit sad and lonely (lots of slow-moving shots of empty office blocks and walkways, some of which I use quite often and aren't as sad as they look here), but it really is a great watch, worth setting aside some time for.
